Our Beginner classes are perfect for people with no experience. They are designed to get you fit and teach you how to pole dance, where you can advance at your own pace.

WHAT SHOULD I WEAR TO MY FIRST POLE CLASS?

We recommend wearing shorts (shorter than bicycle shorts) or skorts (skirts with shorts underneath). You will need skin exposed to help grip the pole. Please avoid wearing lotion on your body or hands. Additionally, remember to bring a towel and a water bottle.

DO I NEED TO SIGN UP IN ADVANCE OR CAN I JUST DROP IN FOR A CLASS?

Classes fill up quickly, so you are encouraged to sign up as soon as possible to the class you would like to attend to secure your spot. We do accept walk-in students if there is open space in a class. If you choose to drop in, you may arrive 10 minutes prior to the scheduled class start time.

SHOULD I BRING HEELS TO POLE CLASSES?

Heels are not recommended for those with little or no pole dance experience. Heels can initially make dancing harder as they add height and extra weight. Street shoes or regular heels are not recommended; it is preferable to wear dance heels that have proper rubber soles, as they are safer and constructed for pole dancing.

I'M UNFIT. WHAT LEVEL OF FITNESS IS REQUIRED BEFORE I CAN TAKE CLASSES?

None! Our Beginner courses and classes are designed to get you fit and teach you how to pole dance and you only advance at your own pace. You don’t need any experience to join our courses and classes.

DO I NEED A DANCE BACKGROUND?

No background in dance is required to take a class. But make sure to sign up for a Beginner Trial class first if you are new to Pole. We teach you everything you need to know to progress. With the guidance of your instructor, you can determine when you’re ready to move up to the next level.

I HAVE NO UPPER BODY STRENGTH, WILL THAT BE A PROBLEM?

It is not a problem. Our job is to help you build strength and body awareness. This will progress over time as you continue taking class. We recommend starting with the Beginner level if you are new to Pole

WHAT ELSE SHOULD I KNOW PRIOR TO COMING TO A CLASS?

You should not apply any lotions or oils the day of a pole dance class. Sweating will release the lotion or oils back to the skin surface, and you will be unable to safely grip the pole.

We kindly ask you to leave your jewellery at home. It can cause damage to our Poles.

The world-renowned pole syllabus of Ecole de Pole is offered exclusively in Australia at PFA. This syllabus is based on the techniques and extensive knowledge of the Ecole de Pole accredited instructor courses. This is the only Australian-owned instructor training certification approved by Fitness Australia, the American Council on Exercise and Pole Dance Community UK & Europe. Created by UK champion and global pole industry pioneer Justine McLucas, the curriculum offers the highest standard techniques with the safest teaching methods. Our PFA instructors are all qualified Ecole de Pole Master Trainers, here to help you achieve your goals.

Our studios are clean, air-conditioned, and equipped with 21 x 4m high poles.

We all start from somewhere. All the gorgeous ladies doing inverts and pole climbs were once beginners too. So don’t be intimidated! Enjoy the experience and watch yourself improve.

Clothing🔗

You’ll see ladies wearing bras and panties for pole classes. To grip the pole, bare skin is needed. If you’re not comfortable, that’s okay! Wear shorts, leggings, and a singlet. It may take time, but you’ll become more confident as time goes on.

In Your Own Time🔗

Pole will be new to many people, so don’t expect perfection from the get-go. It’s easy to compare yourself to others, but learning takes time. We encourage you to do only what you feel comfortable doing, and our skilled instructors will be here to support you every step of the way.
